Foreward

‘The Lords Inca constructed the grandest road that there is in the world, as well as the longest... I believe, since the history of man, there has been no other account of such grandeur as is to be seen on this road, which passes over deep valleys and lofty mountains, by snowy heights and over falls of water, through the living rock and along the edges of tortuous torrents... O! What greater things could have been said of Alexander the Great or any of the other powerful kings who have ruled the world than that they could have made such a road as this... the grandest and longest road in the world!'

Pedro Cieza de Leon, a young soldier and adventurer of Spain, came to Peru a short time after the fall of the Inca Empire. He traveled over the magnificent Capac Nan, Royal Road of the Inca Emperors, and he wrote down all that he saw on his journeys. The above words are from the account of his experiences along this fabulous road.

Centuries later, Baron Alexander von Humboldt said':

'...the roads of the Incas were the most useful and stupendous works ever created by man.'

The Imperial Roads of Rome were remarkably similar to the Inca Highways of the Sun Empire, and extended for thousands of miles and existed for centuries. The road systems of ancient Rome and Peru were the greatest the world has ever known, yet, there is another 'highway' that the people of the Earth have been made aware of from time to time down through countless generations.

This `highway' is grander and longer, but never had to conquer the deep valleys and lofty mountains of the Earth planet. It was never cut through living rock nor washed away by raging torrents, yet, it often touched the green hills of Earth and the contact was recorded in the most ancient records of humanity to be handed down from father to son, from priest to priest, and from age to age.

This highway has always been and always will be; it is a pathway that links the Stars together and moves out beyond the known Universe into the terrible vastness of galactic space.

The glorious roads of Rome and the Incas are now buried beneath desert sand, and the footsteps of busy mankind are no longer heard moving over the ancient stones... but the eternal road in the sky exists today as it did yesterday, and it shall know an even greater tomorrow.

The Inca Emperors had their highways of the Sun, but the pathway of the Stars goes beyond even the Sun of this Solar System, beyond the suns of neighboring systems, and even beyond the Great Central Sun of the Universe. It is a Royal Road that spirals upward, outward, and onward until it reaches the Citadel of Divine Creation itself.

The roads of Peru knew the marching feet of doomed men; the roads of Rome knew the chariots of destruction and the terrible machines of war. But the road in the sky serves another purpose. Its 'chariots' are vehicles of 'light', its 'travelers' are not men on a mission of invasion and death, but are messengers of glad tidings from the distant realms of celestial magnificence. The host on the roads of Imperial Rome and Peru was a conquering host; so also is the Host on the road in the sky... a Divine Host that will conquer and invade unto the ends of Creation. This conquest will be a conquest of Love.

The travelers along the `highway of the stars' were in communication with the builders of the 'highways of Earth'—these travelers are mentioned in all the records of past civilizations as the 'gods' who rode the starways in 'flaming chariots' or on `falcons of gold'.

These travelers along the road in the sky are in the skies of Earth today, and their `golden chariots' have become the modern 'Unidentified Flying Objects'... the `Flying Saucers'. Their 'highway' is more active today than it ever was in the past... a great Celestial Host moves towards Earth.

Dr. M. K. Jessup has said:

"The background of the UFO is as broad, as deep and as old as the background of mankind. It may very well be broader and older... The more I study and ponder this unlimited subject of Unidentified Flying Objects, the more I become convinced that the background of the UFO is the background of humanity."

Yes, `the background of the UFO' or the 'chariots of light' is indeed 'the background of humanity': more, much more, it is the background of 'the beginning' of Divine Creation itself.

This book deals only with a short history of the road in the sky, and only with a fraction of the background of its swift travelers. However, here is an account that begins millions of years ago in a forgotten yesterday, connects with the happenings of today, and brings understanding to the prophecies of tomorrow.

I wish to extend my appreciation to the following friends and colleagues for their co-operation and assistance.
